DESCARTES PROGRAM

The DesCartes programme aims to develop hybrid artificial intelligence solutions that will support the creation and development of “Smart cities.” Funded by Singapore’s National Research Foundation, DesCartes is a joint project between the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), NTU, and NUS. As a highly interdisciplinary project, DesCartes will include social science researchers who will observe, document, and analyze the science and engineering processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct ethnographic fieldwork and participant observation within the DesCartes project;
  • Organize and facilitate and intra-Descartes meetings and discussions;
  • Analyze qualitative data arising from fieldwork and prepare articles and chapters for publication;
  • Communicate observations and findings to DesCartes project as necessary.

Minimum Years of Experience: 0

Minimum Qualification Level: PhD

Gross Monthly Salary Range (SGD): 6000-7200
